It’s cold and flu season! That means it’s time for the sneezing, congestion, fever, aches and chills that we all know and love. In comparison, the magic socks hydrotherapy treatment I’m about to tell you about seems downright pleasant. It’s not as bad as it sounds I promise!
This hydrotherapy treatment is safe, effective and cheap! It helps stimulate the immune system, regulate a fever, reduce nasal congestion and is a great natural alternative during cold and flu season. It is especially helpful at warding off illnesses when you first feel them coming on so you can avoid feeling icky in the first place.
What do you need for a magic socks treatment?
· Cotton socks
· Wool socks
· Water
How do you do a magic socks treatment?
1. Make sure your feet are warm to touch. If your feet are cold to start with this won’t work and will just be very uncomfortable. You can warm your feet by soaking them in the bath or a basin of hot water for a few minutes until the feet are warm and pink.
2. Run the cotton socks under cold water, soaking them through. Wring the socks out so they are still damp but not dripping.
3. Put the cold, cotton socks on and immediately put the dry, wool socks over them and get into bed.
4. Go to sleep and keep your feet covered throughout the night. Your socks will be dry in the morning!
What makes magic socks work?
When the cold socks are applied to your feet, it encourages your circulatory system to push blood to your feet to warm them up. This boosts circulation and stimulates your immune system. Altering your circulation relieves congestion in your nose and lungs and helps your systems drain. It can help break a fever and relieve a cough, earache or headache.
